As a proud native of Hampton Roads, Rhonda Vaughn feels a strong connection to the community. Besides the four years she attended The University of Virginia in Charlottesville, she has resided in the area her entire life. As the daughter of a soldier in the Army, living in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Portsmouth has provided her with a solid upbringing. Before real estate, Rhonda and her husband, Jonathan, of fifteen years were entrepreneurs, creating many jobs in the community. Rhonda was the "office" of the company, handling human resources and contact and risk management, among other tasks.
Rhonda's interest in real estate began when she and Jonathan were selling their first home and searching for a new construction property back in 2004. While multiple agents were interested in selling their home, they weren't willing to assist them in the purchasing and building process because of their credit history. Frustrated with the service, or lack thereof, that she received, Rhonda took matters into her own hands. She quickly educated herself on credit and lending, and continued her quest for an agent who had her best interest at heart. After finally finding someone who would truly listen and help her vision come to fruition, she had a great experience building a home for her family.
At that time, Rhonda was exploring other business options. Through her own buying and selling process, she realized that real estate would be the perfect fit for her skill set. That same year, she became certified and started working in the new construction division of one of the largest real estate companies in the United States. After some time with a few companies in Hampton Roads, Rhonda made her way to The Simon Team at Wainwright Real Estate, where she now happily calls home. There, she thrives on the fact that her work is centered on the rewarding experience of helping people make important informed decisions that make a positive difference in their lives.
She may have had an unlikely path that led to working in real estate, but Rhonda has certainly found her calling. As a former educator with ten years of teaching and training experience, she's great at providing step by step avenues and an abundance of resources for her clients. She can relate to people from all different walks of life and gladly helps those with specific needs, such as military families or those with credit challenges. Rhonda puts a lot of emphasis on integrity and honesty and believes that no one should have unpleasant surprises during the home buying process. When she's not working, Rhonda loves to spend time with her husband and three children, Briana, Angel, and Jonathan, Jr. She also sings, plays the keyboard, and would call herself an avid movie watcher.
